You are now mobile!!

So you finally started to crawl this weekend!  And once you get going there is no stopping you!  For the past week you’ve been taking one or two steps then falling on your belly and just laying there for a second stunned!  Not anymore, you love to go after anything that is on the floor no matter what is.  Trouble is, now you get into everything I can’t turn my back on you even for a second!  You love it when I stack up some blocks on one side of the room then wait for you to crawl over and knock them down.  Then I race over to the other side and try and build the stack back up before you can get to me and knock it over again.  You laugh so hard while you’re doing and have the biggest smile!!  You really don’t seem too satisfied with just crawling either, you’ve now started taking a few steps when we hold you up by your hands.  Any day now it seems that you’ll be walking and then we are really in for it!!

Talking..

So for the past couple of weeks you have been realizing that your mouth is used for more than just eating :)   You’ve started the baby babbling that is just too cute.  In the morning you talk to me by going ma la ba na la ma or something, I can’t quite figure it out.  Earlier this week while we were driving home from daycare I swear you said mama, but today you’ve been all about the da da.  Not really sure if you are actually saying the words or just trying to make noise.  Guess we’ll find out in the next coming weeks as you get older!!

Me and You

Today was my first day in my police uniform.  Your mother took this great picture of me and you and I wanted to post it so you could see it later in life.

Hope you enjoy :)

First Hospital Stay

Well we just got home from spending 3 days in the hospital together.  You got Rotavirus from another child at the daycare on Thursday and became really dehydrated Thursday thru Friday so I had to take you to the ER.  You were so miserable and lethargic due to diaherra and vomiting.  I was so worried about you and I wished so hard I could take it all away.  When we got back to an exam room and saw the doctor who diagnosed you very quickly, they sent in a nursing student to give you the IV and he didn’t know what he was doing!!!  He got a clot when he tried to do it so they finally got the nurse to do after you screaming your head off for 5 minutes b/c they were hurting you.  I felt so bad for you.  So for the next several hours I laid in the bed holding you while you slept so peacefully.  Daddy, Tess and Shannon came to vist you but you were asleep most of the time so they didn’t stay very long.  You got admitted around 6 o’clock but we didn’t get a room until around 9 so you were pretty cranky by then that you wouldn’t go to sleep in the crib, I couldn’t put you down so you slept in the big bed with me all night with me being so nervous and so many checkups through the night that I didn’t get much sleep.  Little did I know at the time that we would be there for the next 3 days!!!  Luckily the 2nd night you slept in the crib so I finally got some sleep!!  The next night was the same as the first, you were ready to go home and not very happy  so I had to hold you most of the day and you slept with me for half the night again.  Daddy, Tess, and Nana came to vist frequently and Nana even gave me a hospital break on Sunday so I could go eat with Daddy.  They finally let us go home Monday morning but I couldn’t take you back to the daycare until you were completely cleared by the doctor b/c what you have is highly contagious so I get to stay home for the whole week with you since Daddy is starting his new career on Friday (he couldn’t risk catching it and being sick for his first day).  So hopefully you will get over this soon so I can go back to work and you can start feeling better.

Breathing Treatments

I had to take you to the doctor today because you have been having problems breathing over the weekend.  She diagnosed you with brochilotis and put you on breathing treatments for the next week, 3 times a day.  You do not like the machine at all!!!!  You keep grabbing at it and swatting it away.  Hopefully it will get easier and you will get more used to it since we have to do this so much!!!

Fish out of water..

So as Daddy already posted, we took you for your first swim today.  I didn’t think you would like it at first.  But I should have known being that daddy and I totally love the water!!  I started swimming about the age you are now and could swim before I could crawl so I should have expected it from!  We couldn’t keep you out of the water you loved it so much!!!  You really did love to splash daddy right in the face too!!  I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile that big on your face before!!  Hopefully the water will warm up soon so we can take you more often, I didn’t keep you in very long b/c of how cold it was.

Your First Swim

So today was a fun day for the most part.  We went to your Nana’s house for Mother’s Day, and decided to go for a swim.  We also decided it was time to see how you liked the water.  And despite the fact that the water was freezing, you had a blast.  You’re a natural swimmer and I have a feeling you’ll be far ahead of the rest of the kids your age when it comes to the water.  You literally laid on your stomach (me holding you afloat) and paddled with your hands and feet as if you already knew how to swim.  It was amazing.  As you can see in the pictures, you also got a kick out of splashing water in my face … and yours too!

Solid Foods

So this week we are starting you on solid foods!  Enough of the formula only meals!  I started a little while ago giving you rice cereal and then oatmeal, but now we are going to move onto veggies!  I hope you like them and don’t give me a hard time like your sister does, and she’s older!!!

Growing up so quickly

We’ve had a few big developments over the last couple of days.  Your first tooth has officially come in!!  I started noticing it a couple of days ago and tonight it broke through!  You are growing up so fast!!!  You have also decided it was time for you to sit on your own so over the past couple of days we have been working on your balance and you are doing so well at sitting by yourself.  I can’t believe how much you have changed over the last week.   You are such a smart little boy!  It amazes me everyday how fast you are learning!!

Playing Shy

Well lately you’ve become quite fun to play with. You do this little shy thing that’s real cute. When someone is holding you, I’ll get your attention and then get all excited and smile at you and talk. You respond with a huge grin and then you blush and duck into your mommy’s shoulder and curl up in a ball acting all shy. It’s the funniest thing ever.

You’ve definitely become fun to play with finally. Which works for me. I’m not really all about the whole baby thing. That’s not what I wanted a son for. I wanted a little buddy I can play games, sports, and whatever else with. I wanted a pal that comes to be for help and fun. And you’re slowly turning into exactly what I want. Can’t wait till you get bigger so we can have a blast!

3 month milestones

You have successfully completed your first week at daycare today :) You seem to like it there and the ladies all love you!!! You just smile away at them and they talk about how friendly and precious you are - tell me something I didn’t know :) Yesterday they took your feet and made red footprints to put on the back of the door to your room, we get them in a few days so I’ll have some to match the black and white one I already have. You already seem to be following in your daddy’s footsteps with the ladies, everyone loves you and I always find someone different holding you and loving on you. They say all day long they go in and play with you and you just smile away at them!! I’m going to have my hands full in the future aren’t I??!!! At your last check up you had to have shots and you were not happy! I hated to see you in pain when they gave you the shots so I couldn’t watch, but I will never forget your crying. I know you have to get your shots to stay healthy but it doesn’t mean I have to like!! We have been working with you on holding your head up better since the doctor told us you were a little behind and you are doing so well!! You love when we do baby sit-ups to catch you up, you try so hard to pull yourself up you lift your legs to help! You really like to sit up and try to do it constantly alone, I think you’ll be doing it in no time! A few weeks ago daddy bought you a floor mat with a pillow on it to lay you down on your belly and help you learn to hold your head up, you’re now starting to grip the toys (and the mat) that are attached to it and are really trying to get your arms underneath you as well. When you are just on your belly without the pillow you try to pull your knees in and get up, you’re so cute when you get frustrated because you can’t do it! You have finally started sleeping through the night!! At least until 7:30 on the weekends or 6 AM during the week when I have to wake you up and get you ready for daycare. I finally get to remember what it’s like to have a full nights sleep!! Though I know if probably won’t last, I’ll enjoy it while I can. Other than all that you are still growing like a weed and getting cuter and cuter everyday. We still can’t figure out what color your eyes are going to be and your hair is now starting to get lighter so you are just changing all the time!! You are my precious little sweet boy and I love you with all my heart baby! Love Mommy

Getting a Personality

Well you’re finally starting to gain some of the good things in babies. Poop and bottles are not my idea of a good time. But making you smile and attempt to laugh and talk is a good time. You are trying so hard to talk. It’s actually funny. You open your mouth and flop your tongue around and just make as many weird noises as you can. All the while smiling from ear to ear. It’s pretty fun. To the left is a picture of me feeding you. I have a nasty habit of making you smile when you eat, which of course makes you stop eating as it runs out of the side of your mouth. For some reason you always stare at me when you eat, even if your mother is the one feeding you.

Anyways, I finally found a part of this baby thing I like … making you smile and laugh. It’s quite easy too. You love to have your monkey feet tickled. Or your favorite is to stick my finger into both of your cheeks and jiggle them and laugh. You could be crying and that right there would make you stop and smile. Or if I move your chin up and down and act like you are talking. You love that too.

Getting older!!!

The day you where born, you were so small. The next thing you know, you’re almost three mouths old. Daddy took some pictures of you when you were 1 month old, 2 months old, and in a few days 3 months old. You are growing too fast. I can’t wait ’till you are at least old enough to be able to understand what people say. Then i can play games, teach you how to tie your shoes, and even read you stories at night. I so can’t wait! :)

Smiling boy

So a few weeks ago you reached the age where you start to smile and attempt to laugh and talk to us. Your smiling face brings so much joy to us, I sometimes can’t stand it, I just want to cry with happiness. We just sit there for a few minutes going back and forth making ooohhh and awwing noises and laughing and smiling, you’re so cute. I can’t wait until you can actually talk and get real words out. You try so hard to do it already and you have the most adorable voice :)
No matter what mood I’m in, all it takes is a smile from you to cheer me up. I don’t think that any words can ever really describe the feeling I get when you smile at me, I love you so much, that it’s just too incredible to see your smiling face and know that you’re my son, that your father and I created something so wonderful together.

Eating!!!!!!!!

There are tons of ways you show mommy you’re hungry: You eat your fist, you do the mouthing thing, and the most obvious one is crying. (of course) :) . Once mommy made the bottle she would feed you for like five or ten minutes. Then she burps you then when she tries to give you the bottle back …you fight it. So she doesn’t feed you because she thinks you’re done then like ten minutes later you either cry, do the mouthing thing, or eat your fist. then mommy makes a new bottle and feeds you. This time you eat the whole thing.  While you’re eating, you poop.   So mommy changes you when you’re done.  (Boy does it stink :) .  Later when you’re hungry you do the same thing. Hopefully when you’re older, you won’t fight for your food, or do the three things you do to show us you’re hungry!!

When mommy is making your bottle you get real angry because it takes a while to get warm water for you. When you get real angry you do the sheep cry and run out of breath. When mommy picks you up you are still doing the sheep cry. When she tries to give you the bottle you fight it because every time you cry you wave your arms around and you fingers are shaped like Dr.Evil.  Sometimes you fall asleep when you get burped or when you’re eating. One time daddy was feeding you when the bottle was still in your mouth you just fell asleep.  Sometimes when you fall asleep you do the pop-eye look (when you only open one eye).  Mommy tries to wake you up to finish the bottle.  You always fight the bottle.  Almost every time we have to change you.  What fun feeding is.  I changed my mind on trying to feed you. :P

I loved you at first sight!!!!

I have always loved you once I saw you. Once I saw you, I was like “oh my god. He is so adorable.” I keep on bugging mommy about holding you. Once I got to hold you, I wanted to keep you in my hands forever, but  mommy holds you more!! :D
